Ardonis Arnwine affectionately known as Donnie, was born on March 1, 1957 to Obie and Vera Arnwine. He was the 8th of twelve children. He was introduced to Christ at a young age and his constant acts of kindness were reflective of the fact that the love of Christ was in his heart.
Donnie was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where he was widely known and loved by so many. He received his education in the Los Angeles Unified School District and graduated from Locke High School. He was well known for his infectiousness smile, wild outlandish stories, offbeat dance and heartfelt laugh. Where most people collect things, Donnie collected people. His favorite mode of transportation was the bus because it was a sure way of meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones. He could be seen walking all over Los Angeles dressed to the nines and carrying that big heavy bag on his back.
Donnie loved his family and would do whatever he could to help anyone in need. He took pride in protecting and caring for the ladies in his life and guiding and advising his sons and nephews. He enjoyed holidays and attending the family gatherings and funerals. He made it his business to know and report the family news. If you needed legal representation or help with maneuvering through the system you could count on Donnie to hook you up. He was a huge pillar in the family and throughout the community and will be greatly missed by so many.
After a long and courage battle with cancer God called Donnie home on May 5, 2021 with his wife Debra by his side. He was preceded in death by his father Obie Arnwine; (4) brothers: Curtis, Cecil, Alfred and Alan.
He leaves to cherish his memories and honor his legacy, his wife Debra; mother, Vera, (4) sons: Donte, Adonis Jr., Kevin and Isaiah; (2) daughters: Shania and Jasmine; (3) grandchildren: Jalaya, Avi’onna and Emi’rose; (1) brother, Marvin Sr.; (6) sisters: Barbara, Joyce, Rosemary, Diana, Sharon and Dorothette; (2) stepsons: Waymon and Da’Mario; (2) stepdaughters: Iteria (Foxy) and Kiara; (1) step grandson, Bryson; nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Donnie may be gone but his memories will live on forever in our hearts.
