James Gilbert Mays

James Gilbert Mays aka “SLIM Jr” passed away unexpectedly on the evening of March 12, 2021 at West LA Kaiser Hospital. James, was Born October 20, 1948 in Frankfort, Kentucky to William and Ollie Mae Wade Mays

James attended Mayo-Underwood High School, then he finished a Training Program at Job Core in Pleasanton, Ca. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp. Afterward serving he moved to California where he met and married his wife Mae Jones and they made a home in the city Los Angeles.

In addition to his parents. Slim was preceded in death by older Siblings; Connie and Walter Cleveland, his younger siblings; Wiliene, Bobby, Billy and Tommy Mays. He is survived by his two youngest siblings Phillip Mays and Gary Payne and his children; Shannon C, Jennifer, D’artagnon, Shannon H, Adrianna, James (II) , a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews and so many friends who loved and adored him.
