Ruby White

Ruby Emelda White was born on August 10,
1930 in Belize City, Belize in Central
America to George Rocke and Matilda
Pandy.
Ruby attended Ebenezer Primary School
where she was actively involved in the
church ministry right into her adolescence.
As a teenager, Ruby held several jobs as a
storekeeper, domestic helper, and various
other jobs to assist her mother and younger
siblings. Her hobbies included reading,
cooking, dancing, attending church and
going to the movies. At the age of 24, Ruby
met the love of her life, Roderick White Sr.
This union produced 13 children, 9 boys and
4 girls. Having 13 children to nurture,
clothed and feed was certainly challenging.
However, this woman became an economist
and entrepreneur to ensure that her
children had daily sustenance.

Ruby was an excellent cook and baker, so
she used this skill and got into business.
She worked from sunrise to sunset. She
baked the nicest potato pudding with the
jelly on top, creole bread, and buns. Name
a dish and she could cook it with her eyes
closed. She did not have enough hands to
sell her wares. She later opened a fruit and
vegetable shop to enhance her busines.
In 1976, she migrated to the United States
of America where she lived for 40 years
until her heavenly transition. She made
several trips back and forth to Belize.
After getting married in 1986, She finally
convinced the love of her life to join her in
the U.S. They spent their final years
together until his passing in 2004.
Ruby had a heart of gold. She always
opened her home to others. Her table was
always filled with family and friends.

She had a joyful spirit and a beautiful warm
smile that brightened up the room. She was
loved by all and affectionately called “Mommy”.
She was a born-again believer, a woman of faith
who prayed diligently for her children and other
family members.
Ruby Emelda White nee Rocke transitioned into
glory on December 30 th , 2020.
She leaves to mourn her children, 5 daughters,
Yvonne Thompson, Brenda Hyde, Ann, Deneen &
Jerilyn White. 7 sons, Colin, Sherwin, Lionel,
Vern, Glenn, Clayton and Tyrell White. She is
also survived by 37 grandchildren, 48 great-
grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren.
Sisters: Maude Dupree, Eunice Haulze, and
Veronica Locke. Brothers: Lionel and
Journett Pandy. A host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends.

Father: George Rocke. Stepfather: Percival
Pandy. Husband: Roderick White Sr. Sons:
Roderick White Jr., Michael, Errol and Tyrone
White. Grandsons: David Sutherland and
Kenrick Nembhard. Granddaughters: Tricia &
Shakira White. Brother: Sylvester Ferrel.
