Tony Lamont Byrd affectionately known as Byrd was born on February 4,
1958 in Los Angeles, CA to Adolph Byrd and Mabel Owens. He was
introduced to Christ at a young age and his constant acts of kindness were
reflective of the fact that the love of Christ was in his heart.
Byrd graduated from Morningside High School (1975) in Inglewood, CA.
Early on Byrd had a passion for baseball. He loved playing baseball as a
youngster and played in the Pop-Warner league as a pitcher.
After high school Byrd developed a desire to work in the aviation (aircraft)
mechanics field. He pursued a career in aviation mechanics working for
Marvin Engineering Co. in Inglewood, CA. His knowledge of aviation led Byrd
to mastering working on cars and computers.
Byrd had a great love for thoroughbred race horses. Byrd assisted his father
with grooming the thoroughbred horses for races. He could hold a
conversation for hours talking about those horses!
Byrd married the love of his life, but due to his wife’s military commitment the
marriage was dissolved.
